I’ve been molded to become a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) from a very young age. When I was 8-years-old, I had a sibling diagnosed with Autism. I saw how a diagnosis can drastically change a family forever. I participated in his speech therapy sessions, made peer-modeling videos, and sat in on his clinics with several SLPs, discussing the progress and goals with my mother. As a child, I learned American Sign Language (ASL) and am now conversant in ASL. Throughout my childhood/young adulthood, my free time was spent working at schools for children with Autism, and at schools for the Deaf. I also had family members who suffered a stroke, had a brain tumor, and laryngectomy, and watched how the SLPs changed their lives for the better. Fast forward to college, I planned social skills groups for students with learning disabilities. I also raised over $8,000 for Autism Research by choreographing a dance showcase with gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches at intermission! Since receiving my master’s degree, I've had extensive experience evaluating and treating individuals across the lifespan in Manhattan's premiere medical institutions including: Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai St. Luke's and New York Presbyterian Hospital. I’ve also presented nationally regarding topics of: social skills solutions, effective communication tips, caregiver support, new diagnosis myths debunked and compensatory strategies for adults with Parkinson’s, Post-Stoke and TBI. I supervised and taught graduate students at Columbia University’s Edward D. Mysak Clinic, and Clinical Fellows at Outreach Rehabilitation in Manhattan. I became a Speech Language Pathologist because I am passionate about helping everyone communicate and be understood. Now more than ever, it is so important that we stay connected with loved ones. I want to be there to help make communication easier and improve the quality of life for caregivers and those with diverse challenges.

How comfortable she made me feel

Annalise was amazing!!! She made me feel super comfortable from day one. Easy to talk to & made me feel so much more confident in such a short time. I looked forward to our sessions each week. Every week I felt like I was growing a little more in speech & it helped with my practical everyday life. I had problems with speech my whole life, wasn’t the worst but not the best and I’m still not but I’m getting there and made me realize to simply believe more in myself, to be more confident. Life changing! Thank you so much & I appreciate it.
